A Christmas classic – A CHRISTMAS TALE – is screened at Leigh Community Centre tomorrow.

Another one of The White Bus screenings.

A Christmas Tale (Un conte de Noel Roubaix) Comedy and drama meet in equal measures in this outrageous, daring and emotionally bountiful film. Heading an extraordinary cast, Catherine Deneuve is Junon, the family matriarch, who greets the news of her life-threatening illness with calm equanimity. Jean-Paul Roussillon is her wise, tender husband, while this festive gathering also includes the ‘black sheep’, banished by his imperious sister, who arrives with his bemused Jewish girlfriend in tow, and the most sensitive of the children, happily married to a ‘divine’ wife. This wonderful story follows the joys and vicissitudes of family life through this Christmas gathering of the Vuillar clan in Roubaix, in northern France.

Screening starts at 7.30pm. Subtitled.

Leigh Community Centre, 71-73 Elm Road, Leigh on Sea, SS9 1SP.

All tickets £6.00, available in advance from Leigh Community Centre (tel: 01702 47728) or on the night.
