Temporary Art Project gallery in Southend on Sea is looking for a part-time Gallery Manager on a voluntary basis with a view to a salary being available through successful funding.
Duties and responsibilities:
Ensuring the smooth running of the gallery
Developing the gallery’s programme, planning and booking events and exhibitions
Assisting with running the gallery events
Marketing: updating the gallery website, social media channels and sending out newsletters
Updating the gallery’s database
Liaising with the TAP Studio Manager about studio artists and any studio-related matter
Dealing with enquiries from artists, the press and the general public
Monitoring all areas of the gallery’s finances, with the support of the accountant, making sure the invoices are paid and the annual accounts are filed on time
Dealing with mandatory building maintenance: fire check
Fundraising – applying for grants for the gallery’s programme
Interest in contemporary art
Flexibility with working hours
Excellent interpersonal skills, with good verbal and written communication skills
Experience of financial management
Excellent IT skills
