GARDEN OF REMEMBER: AUDIO-DIGITAL ART APP
This week saw the launch of a powerful new project at Metal Southend. The Garden of Remember is a digital art app created by artists, students & people living with Dementia. Geolocated in Chalkwell Park, visitors can follow the map around the park and different sections of audio-visuals will spring into life. The fragmented nature of the words and journey are designed to reflect the shutting down of memory as those with Dementia find their minds affected by this condition. Accompanied by fantastic illustrations by acclaimed artist Joe Magee and moving piano music specially written for the project by composer Jack Hurst, this is a poignant experience for all ages. The App can be downloaded here.
