Job in Southend: Mental Health Wellbeing Coordinator
Working in partnership between Metal and Southend Borough Council/Clinical Commissioning Group an exciting fixed term post has been created to engage with local people, especially targeted adult populations with low level mental health issues currently not accessing or participating in available services, and BAME communities.
The aim is to improve mental health amongst the population of Southend by working with Netpark, the first digital art park in the world. The digital art park will create a digital layer of new purpose built, site specific, digital artworks in Chalkwell Park. The emphasis is on prevention and enabling people to live a life without needing to engage with mental health services.
• Engaging with local people, especially targeted adult populations currently not accessing or participating in available services and BAME communities, to improve mental health and wellbeing by focussing on using outdoor space.
• Working explicitly with NetPark to encourage the use of outdoor space and engagement with the first digital art park in the world.
• Promoting Netpark amongst BAME adult populations with low level mental health issues as a driver to improve social inclusion and wellbeing amongst people with low level mental health issues.
Specifically the successful candidate will have the skill set to develop a work plan, monitor its delivery, manage risks and issues as well as manage stakeholders. Energy and enthusiasm are key to the success of this project; alongside excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Research, evaluation and monitoring throughout will demonstrate the success or otherwise of the project. Volunteers will be a significant part of the project and the successful candidate will recruit, train and monitor a group of volunteers. An interest in the arts is crucial alongside a degree of competence in digital media.
