Fri 11 – Sun 13 April – POCKET PROJECTIONS @ Victoria Gateway
A project by Sustrans will see interactive light show and display outside Victoria Station this weekend.
Sustrans is a national charity which has recently launched a new project in Southend, ‘Pocket Places for People: ‘The project aims to explore unused or poorly used pockets of spaces along Queensway and London road and transform them into more welcoming, people friendly and vibrant community spaces.’
Join them between 4-10pm Friday-Sunday and contribute to the projections in an interactive animation where you can select images from a range of community drawn images and project them on the floor, accompanied by original music by a talented local artist.
The images represent ideas for the use of the public space at Victoria Gateway and were drawn by participants on Sustrans’ digit white board at their previous event. If you contributed that day, then come along and become famous!
Since May 2013 Sustrans we have running workshops/events and working together with local people, supporting the changes that you want to see and helping to make them happen. This collaborative process has led them to arrive at a design proposal for the public space at Victoria Gateway: ‘we believe will help transform the area to a more vibrant and friendly place for everyone to enjoy equally!’
