Southend Jazz Co-op
About Southend Jazz Co-op Last Activity: 4 months, 2 days ago
The Southend Jazz Co-op is a group of musicians who get together to play jazz. Sessions are run by a series of tutors focusing on developing improvisational skills and a jazz repertoire, using well known jazz tunes. It’s a friendly & supportive atmosphere for all ages and abilities, the common factor being a love of jazz, a willingness to learn and to make mistakes along the way.
Weekly fee £6, concessions available.
We also play occasional concerts.
One of the features of the co-op are the regular “Masterclasses” run by the very best of professional British jazz musicians. These sessions are usually free to members. Over the years the guests have included Anita Wardell, Nikki Illes, Art Themen, Steve Waterman, Bobby Wellins and Robin Aspland
