JERSEY BOYS
134mins : 2014 : Certificate ‘15’
Palace Theatre : 7.30pm : £6.00
From director Clint Eastwood comes the story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 60s rock group Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Their trials and triumphs are accompanied by the hit songs that influenced a generation: “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” “Rag Doll,” “Bye Bye Baby” and many more.
This powerful drama reflects the rise, the tough times and personal clashes, and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music became symbolic of a generation. Far from a mere tribute concert Jersey Boys gets to the heart of the relationships at the centre of the group, with a special focus on frontman Frankie Valli, the small kid with the big falsetto.
Jersey Boys is a glimpse at the people behind a sound that has managed to endure for over four decades in the hearts of the public. Star John Lloyd Young reprises his Tony Award®-winning portrayal of lead singer Frankie Valli, while Christopher Walken co-stars as mobster Gyp DeCarlo.
