Sundown @ Leigh Community Centre
Join Sundown Arts, a voluntary-run arts organisation and long-standing supporter of spoken word and live literature in Essex, as they invite people to take to the stage for their Open Mic spoken word evening.
Sign up to perform your 5 minute slot by emailing [email protected] – poems, stories and anecdotes are all welcome in a supportive and light-hearted atmosphere.
Daryl Easlea will be reading for the first time in public words from his late 20th Century song cycle, Southend East (first part of his fabled, largely imaginary Southend Quadrology). For anyone with an understanding of late teenage estuary angst and a sentimentality for the ‘Misery Line.’
Spectators are also more than welcome! £3 entry, payable on the door. Bar available too.
